Description
As the title Instant Connections indicates, our stunt sparked immediate activation and sampling of NESCAFÉ.
Our installation stopped pedestrians in their tracks, enticed interaction amongst each other and rewarded them with a fresh brew of coffee.
All without the use of prominent and recognizable branding or sales/promo teams in support.
Execution
Each NESCAFÉ signal-control box had a videoscreen, camera, signal-control button and a hidden NESCAFÉ instant coffee machine.
The two boxes were connected via wireless technology and videotelephony, allowing pedestrians to see the person waiting on the other side of the road.
Encouraging each other via videotelephony, and guided by our „Press Together“ instruction, consumers interacted with the machine infront oft hem.
When people on both sides of the street pressed the button, the box opened, revealing a fresh, steaming hot cup of NESCAFÉ.
Outcome
However fleeting it was, NESCAFÉ rewarded pedestrians for starting a connection with a complete stranger they would have normally passed by.
In one day NESCAFÉ sparked 33 high fives, 285 waves, 839 smiles and countless conversations. With only a few NESCAFÉs we connected 768 strangers.
In turn, the stunt generated positive word of mouth and a shift in brand perception amongst passers-by and their peers.
