A very hot summer day - two teenage girls strolling in deserted parking lot looking into the cars as they pass. A car attracts their attention. They look through the window, step back and look around to see if anybody is in the vicinity. There are none to see. One of the girls picks up a stone and crashes the car window. A dog is lying on the backseat, gasping. The dog is exhausted from heat and dehydration. They pull out the dog, placing it gently on the ground. They give the dog water and it gradually lives up.
