Description

The International Society for Human Rights asked the agency to design a postcard to be published and distributed on December 10th 2010 – International Human Rights day. The aim was to raise awareness for the execution of criminals and political dissidents by the Chinese government, a well kept state secret. The number of people executed in China exceeds the total amount of executions in all countries worldwide.

Execution

China is eager to hide the exact amount of executions from the public. We visualised this intention and turned it into a strong illustrative design. For the final design, we decided to subtly integrate an execution into the Chinese flag, turning the secret into a well known fact.

Outcome

Although no media budget was allocated, several newspapers published the ad. The posters and postcards that were distributed in universities and pubs were gone in no time. Currently, we are looking for a sponsor for the third edition of postcards and posters. In addition free PR coverage was created.
