We open on a stranded astronaut floating in deep space. His oxygen is almost out and he’s desperately calling for help. We then cut to our hero Martin Freeman as the pilot of an interstellar spacecraft on his way to the rescue. After a series of mishaps, Martin tries to work out the controls of this new craft he’s flying and finally manages to open the airlock. As the delighted astronaut floats towards the ‘airlock’, Martin’s spaceship suddenly disappears at the crucial moment. We then reveal that Martin is actually sitting at home on his sofa playing an online video game and has just lost connection thanks to his poor broadband. His friend, who he left floating in space, suggests he gets Vodafone installed.

The star of the ad, Martin Freeman, is one of Britain’s best known and loved actors. The British public have followed his career from his early days as Tim in the hit TV show ‘The Office’ to starring roles in Hollywood movies like ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘Black Panther’.
