Lockdown can be Uplifting

Strategy

Since the beginning of 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic omicron variant outbreak has forced many cities into lockdowns. Several cities even had a lockdown lasting a few months or even years. People were not allowed to leave their city freely and felt depressed.

Chevrolet initiated the “Lockdown can be Uplifting” campaign to inspire the Chinese people in lockdown. Even if they were not allowed to leave the city, they could still stay optimistic and do something cool.

Execution

Chevrolet launched ten entertaining videos. In these videos, young people who cannot leave the city use SUVs to have all kinds of fun. For example, using the screen to tease a cat, the car to sweep fallen leaves, asking the girlfriend to wake up, the boyfriend to pick the pomegranate, and so on.

The videos were published when Shanghai was still in lockdown. These entertaining videos brought joy to the people, inspired them to shoot the "Lockdown can be Uplifting" videos and ended the lockdown with joy.
