The Lone Rider’s centrepiece is a fully functional, bespoke vehicle that’s dark, imposing, and larger than life. It was important that we supported the proposition by creating a fine-tuned piece of metal that could not only move, but travel without trouble over the harsh Australian landscape, so we turned a 1983 UNIMOG into a 6-tonne truck without a body but all the baggage. The location in which it thrives seems vast and empty, almost dream-like, but it’s the small details unique to Australia’s wilderness that make us believe this mythical character and his unyielding machine are truly real.
