Description
The Wondros team filmed for three days in Jacksonville, Florida with Scott Jernigan and his family. We shed the traditional interview set-up from the PSA and got deeply personal. In this series we hear directly from those who have participated in Braeburn’s clinical trials for Probuphine, and see how patients and their families are able to regain a sense of normalcy with the assistance of this medication. We meet those who have been impacted by Jernigan’s addiction and recovery, and we understand that addiction is not the result of bad character or an unwillingness to seek help, but rather a debilitating disease that devastates families and must be treated with compassion.
Execution
The campaign started in January 2017 with radio ads in two small test markets, in regions with high rates of opioid addiction. It later expanded to nationwide and included paid digital media ads running the 30-second cutdown of the film, driving viewers to the unbranded 8444support.com microsite. Braeburn continues to optimize the ongoing media campaign to ensure impressions go to relevant audiences.
Outcome
The United States is in the midst of a devastating opioid epidemic. Probuphine is an innovative product that can help addicts manage their disease for up to six months at a time. Braeburn is truly changing lives with its product and its mission.
The 8444support campaign was developed to help shift the thinking away from addiction as a choice and make people aware that there is evidence based medicine that can help to save lives. In developing this campaign with Braeburn, we said, ‘if we can just save one person, this has all been worthwhile.” We feel like that we have already achieved that goal just in the test markets and now that it is running nationwide Braeburn will have the ability to help many many more people.
