Interactive Messaging System (Consists of two parts)

-Upper part: It acts like a normal street light, lighting up the street after 6 pm.

The sign attached on the light post has the street number which can be used by the police to trace the caller’s location.

-Down part: It has a motion sensor, which turns on and shows a message “MA!” on the ground when someone walks by.

Outcome

Crime rate drop

Crime rate was reduced by 100%. After “MA!light” was installed, no crime was reported to the police. (Previously 8 crimes.)

SNS reach and online spread out:

On Facebook page, “MA!light” was viewed by 3 million and received 12,000 Likes. On Twitter, it reached to 270,000.

-Media reports:

News channels reported about it (20 times). It was focused as an issue on TV and Radio (2 times). Special interviews of Busan Police were covered (3 times).

- Request of installment from other areas:

Police continue to receive requests for “MA!light” in other areas.
