Forcing viewers to confront the realities of contaminated drinking water, this film creates a compelling plea for “more firsts.”

Under an emotional voice over, we see vignetters of infants around the world experiencing the world for the first time - from first baths to first words to first steps. We progress through a series of richly textured worlds, the children growing older with each successive vignette, before finally culminating at “first birthday.”

Here, the film starts moving backwards through the vignettes in reverse order and we realize that the firsts we’ve witnessed will, unfortunately, also be lasts for many of the infants we’ve encountered without clean drinking water.
