If you don’t invest in Sberbank, you may find out that your kettle is smarter than you – because it did.
The video shows a typical investor's journey - from the making of a decision to receiving benefits. The not so typical part is the investor. In a smart house, a kettle with an AI chip devises a clever plan how to get rid of the mean guy who owns the house and steal his wife. It’s an anti-utopian comedy with a simple message: if you don’t invest in Sberbank, you’ll lose the game to those who did.
Execution
The video was shown at Investor Day in London to 130 investors from 10 countries. Also 2,500 people who watched the webcast of the Investor Day saw the video.
More than 15 popular Russian business media covered the news.
We got word-of-mouth marketing effect among business community after Sberbank’s Chief Marketing Officer shared the video in his Facebook account.
The leaders of YPO Russia Chapter (Young President’s Organization), Ribakov fund, Delovari – big business clubs for chief executives whose business revenue is more than $10 million per year – shared the video in internal communications.
Outcome
The video created a new and attractive image of Sberbank for investors, a goal impossible to achieve via a traditional advertising campaign.
It was shared by the vast majority of attendees and relevant Russian business media.
7,3 % of shareholders who attended the event decided to further invest in Sberbank.
