Description
Families and sport; In Australia, they go hand in glove. Parents and the weekend sports run-around; In Australia, it’s unavoidable.
In this concept, we play on this truth; a mum taxis around the biggest athletes in Australia to their various sporting locations around the country and around the world. Wouldn’t it just be easier if all their sports were in the one place? We aim to demonstrate that the best way to get all your favourite sports stars together in one place is to buy Foxtel.
Execution
We needed to find a female lead for the role of ‘Mum’ who was not only likable, but had enough presence that she wouldn’t be overshadowed by the biggest sports stars in Australia.
For the role of the daughter, we found a sparkplug who was unfazed by these huge personalities and confident enough to be herself, putting the athletes around her at ease. Both female characters were integral in driving the narrative and being in control of the superstar cast.
When it came to our sports stars, we wanted to cast the biggest and most recognisable athletes in the country who weren’t going to take themselves too seriously and totally buy in
to the creative concept. Getting all these stars together from across the country, juggling their schedules, and working out logistics over the course of 5 shoot days was an incredibly
difficult task that we managed to pull off.
