Description

Entertain TV answers the needs of future TV generations by providing a single point of access to the endless variety of live and on-demand TV from countless providers, while offering the user plenty of guidance. Entertain TV is unique thanks to its outstanding usability, ease of use, and availability.

Entertain TV is the perfect companion in the new digital entertainment universe. It contains all the diversity of live and on-demand content, and makes it more easily accessible to the customer. It’s a solution that inspires as it entertains, so all content can simply be enjoyed.

To position the product on the market, we developed an end-to-end story for marketing and communication purposes by creating and introducing an overarching product personality.

Execution

Because customers face such a huge mass of content from so many different providers, the Entertain TV interface needs to be very supportive. So we developed an augmented interface that establishes a relationship to the content in the background while remaining intuitive.

The interface enables fluid interaction. It is neither abstract nor invisible; it lives in the background. The user is aware of it, can act through it, and can get additional information. It allows flexibility and adaptation to different modes of interaction, which is necessary for the concept and design of modern information systems.

Thanks to its transparency, the interface appears light, open, and reduced. So it provides also the Deutsche Telekom’s brand values: Innovation, Competence and Simplicity.

Outcome

The MR 400 is 40% smaller than the previous model. Users can enjoy a full range of flexibility by connecting a USB stick to display photos, play videos, and play music.

Additionally, the 500-GB hard drive can now be removed, so even if the receiver needs to be replaced, the customer can keep his recordings. It's one more example of Deutsche Telekom’s ‘Innovation, Competence and Simplicity’ brand values.
