Description
Nobele Match is an online platform of the Nobel Foundation, which enables smaller Dutch charities to find creatives willing to work pro-bono on their communication. This way creatives get the opportunity to produce interesting work for their portfolio and charities get better communication for their causes.
Nobele Match's question to Pool was to create awareness for this new service online. However, there was no budget available. Pool developed a Bob Ross spoof. Bob Ross is a cult icon in the Netherlands and abroad and he is linked to creativity. He has a distinct, friendly and cheerful way of showing his audience how to paint. The disturbing African war scene which Bob Ross paints on the canvas, accompanied by his distinctive cheerful commentary, unravels into a bizar and harrowing scene. The viral was uploaded to YouTube and then seeded across leading Dutch entertainment and creative blogs, forums and communities. From there the viral spread by itself around the Netherlands and abroad.
We are very proud of the results. Not only did we succeed in making a remarkable viral which cost the client nothing, it also reached over a million people.
