Description
This campaign is built on a premise as ridiculous as it is astonishing; i.e. porn actors protesting for equal pay.
Advertising, through creativity, has the ability to cause indignation and this is what we are after with this campaign. While many other campaigns have dealt with the issue, we are taking this conversation to a deeper level and address the obscenity of income inequality. Do all women have to become porn actresses to earn more than a men? This campaign expresses in an original and highly revealing way a problem that must be solved as soon as possible
Execution
Equal-pay-day symbolizes how far into 2017 most women will have had to work, to make the same amount most men did by the end of 2016. Yet, there are a small number of industries that see women get paid more than their male counterparts, one of which, is porn.
The #OBSCENEGAP is an online spot that sees male porn actors (who on average get paid approximately 40% less than women in the industry) ironically discuss the absurdity and inequality of their pay difference. The gender role reversal aims to highlight the injustice faced by the majority of women across the world.
