OVERVIEW

Description

Loto-Québec wanted to cheer on Team Canada during the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. So, the brand sent over four-leaf clovers to Canada Olympic House in order to give the athletes every chance of succeeding at the Games.

Execution

During the 2018 Winter Olympics, Loto-Québec set up a planter box inside Canada Olympic House containing 2,000 real four-leaf clovers, picked and planted by hand. An accompanying sign read: “Pick one, it can’t hurt.” On Facebook, a video showed Team Canada athletes and fans happily picking the real clovers so as to bring them luck throughout the Games.

Outcome

Amazing statistics for a small market like Quebec.

Team Canada ended up taking home 29 medals at the Pyeongchang Games—the most medals the country has ever won at a single Winter Games. Coincidence? We’ll let you be the judge.
