Description
We see shots of polar bears in their natural habitat. The shots are focused on a group of bears (mother and two cubs) climbing on an ice sheet. The camera focuses on the family and reveals that the framing is done in 3D.
Execution
We've create three fully computer generated Bears and the environment in which they move.
The workflow moved through different steps.
1. References,research and look development.
2. Modelling: the actual creation of the 3D model of the bears and the environment.
3. Creature Rigging: the phase where we build and define the system to animate the 3D model, and the skeleton and muscular system to let it move and deform realistically.
5. Animation: the process where we "give life" to the creatures by animating them realistically.
4. Texture and shading: the process where we define the visual look of the creatures and the environment, and how they react to the the lights.
5. Lighting: the phase where we place 3D lights to mimic at best the real illumination of the environment.
