Description

Urban Art www.Play2urban.com is the interactive platform that Playstation 2 has created to promote and release different forms of urban artistic expression. Motivated by the closeness between fine arts, different techniques of artistic expression (music, infographic, CGG) and videogames, PlayStation decides to be the starter, leader, and “exhibitor” of ordinary expression at its wildest and most contemporary: “urban art”.In its different sections, this platform picks up pieces of audio, literary and audio-visual character: Original Text, Original Sound and Original Visual. Furthermore, and out of register and out of the gallery, the user will make an approach to urban expression through “Filament of Ideas” (generating texts), “Filaments of Icons” (graphics) and “Composer”, an interactive mixer of sounds, rhythms and images. All them are showed on the web and disappear in a short time (short lived art). The platform has been created not only to allow the spreading of urban art work, but to invite the user to interact and perceive a real experience of what urban expression is, through the immediate creation of images, rhythms and ideas, and by checking other people's contributions. In Urban Art the fusion of art, urban expression and digital media is a fact.
