Description
For generations, Lysol has been famous for killing germs. We wanted to move the brand beyond “what” it did (kill 99.9% of germs) to why it matters. Protection. That’s what Lysol does, and what moms instinctively do. To connect with the fierce protective nature of moms, we used the only mothers that could match her instinct to protect: mother animals. Everyday around the world, moms stop at nothing to protect their loved ones. This film celebrates moms’ protective instinct and the introduces a big brand platform: What it takes to protect.
Execution
This film involved intimate interactions between kids and ‘wild’ animals. Bringing them to live required a mixture of practically shot animals that were separately plated and composited, and a fully CG bear. The bear was modeled, taking into consideration proper anatomy, skeletal and muscular structure. A challenge for the animators was to combine animalistic movements with choreographed actions to still make it feel realistic. For the vulture sequence, we composited multiple plates shot for the scenes as well as created the vulture wing from plates to attach to the vulture since she did not open her wing on set. The elephant and lion sequences were also separately plated. For the lion, the biggest challenge for the compositors was to track and warp the little girl's movements to match the breathing and movement of the lion.
