As we wanted to stress and underline the problem of school dropouts, we focused on the professional network par excellence: LinkedIn. When someone accepted the child request, the link to the website campaign ricordiamocidellinfanzia.it appeared.

Once on the website, the user had a whole knowledge of the integrated campaign and could sign the petition that was aimed at starting an open dialogue with institutions.

Outcome

Before LinkedIn blocked almost all profiles (Martinelli's profile is still on line), "children workers" had added a few thousand contacts to their professional network, producing traffic on the site ricordiamocidellinfazia.it.

The all operation, together with the signed petition, materialized into an agenda delivered to the government official for the ministry of work and social politics, Maria Guerra.

Political results:

- A government-motion presented in Parliament signed by the most important Italian honorables (Veltroni, Carra, Carfagna).

- A legislative decree for a new social card dedicated to families with children.

- More than €400m devoted to services for childhood in the most underdeveloped region of Southern Italy.
