Description
At home, a young boy asks his mother if they can play ‘Pirates’ together. She says ‘no, not now’, almost automatically, as parents do all too often. But then we hear a voice over. It’s the voice of her inner conscience. It reminds her, with dry sarcasm, that she often says ‘yes’ a lot more easily to other things. Things that she neither likes nor wants. Like attending a cheesy hen party, dog-sitting for a neighbour or a ‘trust’ exercise at work. We see this ‘evidence’ in funny flashbacks. The tone then becomes warm and positive as the VO suggests ‘saving a few of those yesses’ for ‘what really matters.’ Like spending time together at Center Parcs. We see mother and son playing ‘pirates’ together at the park – along with the line “Get together again”.
