We gathered the most prestigious sociologists, journalists, cooks and nutrition experts to discuss cooking motivation and explain how it is transmitted across generations. The main objective was to get French people to rediscover the lost art of family cooking and help position SEB at the center of a key issue for the modern world.
Outcome
Over 500.000 visitors went to see the exhibition–an extraordinary figure for an exhibition centered on the humble pressure cooker and operating within an equally humble budget. The success of the project has helped SEB develop strong ties with other players in the food industry and have resulted in new projects that will benefit the group in the longer term (e.g. cooking courses, CDROMs, publishing ventures, studies into culinary practices). We also believe many ‘Cocottes–minutes’ have been rescued from the back of cupboards and been given a new lease of life!
