Selfie was launched as a global campaign by Safernet Brasil on social networks (Facebook, Twitter) and blogs together with a press release containing research data regarding the increase in the number of sexting cases as well as how Safernet Brasil can help teenagers and children that are victims of cyberbullying.
Outcome
The campaign went viral. Since the launch of the campaign it has more than 8,000 likes, over 10,000 shares reaching more than 15 million people around the world through Facebook. The campaign also was headline of the most important news sites around the world.
People from around the world also supported the cause through comments and made clear the the message impacted them.
Safernet Brasil's helpline had a 43% increase in the numbers of help requests for sexting after the campaign.
