Description

On the occasion of World Food Day, Action Against Hunger is launching a campaign that offers an ironic twist to a popular mobile phone brand’s advertising.

Over the past year, the world has been bombarded with an advertising campaign featuring photographs shot with a smartphone that depict the daily life of anonymous people. And during this very same period, the world has suffered one of the most serious humanitarian crises in recent times. Deadlocked conflicts in Africa and other parts of the world, the emergence of Daesh, the largest number of displaced persons and refugees since World War II or extreme weather events spurred by phenomena such as El Niño have exacerbated the suffering of innocent men, women and children. These crises are causing hunger and decelerating the pace of progress towards the goal of ending malnutrition by 2030, the objective marked by the United Nations General Assembly one year ago.
