In 2012, peace talks began between the Colombian government and the leaders of the FARC. Ever since, all guerrillas are deeply isolated in the jungle; they are isolated, and access to the media is restricted.

But we discovered: THEY CAN'T COVER THEIR EARS.

Taking this into account, the Sky Voices project is born. A radio station 400 feet in the air that would return their former leaders and a former FARC founder to the jungle, but this time not to motivate them to fight, but to invite them to demobilize and return to civilian life.

In one month, 188 guerrillas demobilized, amongst them the leader of the FARC's 7th Front, who added his voice to the radio station.

For over 50 years, the Colombian Armed forces have fought the oldest guerrilla group in the world: the FARC.

We had to carry out an operation that would motivate guerrillas to demobilize and return to civilian life. Our problem was that in light of the peace talks the Colombian government is having with the leaders of the FARC, all guerrillas are located deeper in the jungle, making the delivery of any demobilization message extremely difficult.

1. 188 guerrillas demobilised in one month. Amongst them there were footsoldiers, officers and commanders,

2. Demobilised commanders testified they had listened to the radio station in the jungle.

3. There was a 66% increase in child soldier demobilisation between the October-November months.

4. There was an average demobilisation of 4 officers per week, some having fought in the FARC from 4-15 years.

5. Not only national and international media covered the campaign. On April 12th the FARC sent a communication talking about this idea: 'repentant guerrillas generously inviting their former teammates to follow their decision'. Official statement http://goo.gl/cYQ22
