OVERVIEW

Background

Millions of people die annually from heart disease. Most of these conditions are treatable if they can be diagnosed early, but in most cases patients arrive late.

The most common signs that you may have a heart problem are cardiac arrhythmias, a mismatch in the rhythmic beat of the heart.

But for most people, these signs go completely unnoticed.

Although cardiac arrhythmias are fully treatable and allow an accurate diagnosis, cardiac conditions continue to be one of the leading causes of death among Peruvians over 40.

How to make people learn to identify that they have cardiac arrhythmias?

Radio Corazón (Heart), the most important radio among people over 40 decided to do something.

In Spanish, the radio is called "Heart" because it transmits romantic music that fills and cares for the hearts of people in love, that is why I felt the need to take action in this context.

Idea

We analyzed the data from the electrocardiograms of patients with arrhythmia.

Then we teamed up with the most influential pop stars in the country to transform their most famous songs into songs with heart arrhythmia.

We use the data to change the musical beat of each of the songs to the beat of the arrhythmia of real cardiac patients.

All the top romantic songs were aired on the radio without any message and impressed the audience who did not understand what was happening to the music until a day after were every song revealed a message that told them that the song suffered from cardiac arrhythmia and that if they felt something similar in their hearts, they should go to the cardiologist.

Strategy

We realized that in music as in the heart, the beat is what sets the rhythm and if the rhythm is affected something strange happens.

We analyzed the data of hundreds of patients with cardiac arrhythmia with the help of recognized cardiologists in our country to understand the functioning of the rhythmic beat of arrhythmic hearts.

We decided to call people's attention with their favorite songs, but not as they are used to hearing them, but in totally sick versions.

We interpreted the data from the electrocardiograms to modify the nodes of the audio waves of the most famous romantic songs in the country and create Songs with Arrhythmia.

In this way we would quickly reach thousands of people who would quickly understand the importance of listening to their hearts.

The launch was done as an intrigue to grab people's attention and it worked.

Execution

We studied the electrocardiogram data of hundreds of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and made visual interpretations that worked with the visual sound wave data of the romantic songs most listened to by our audience.

We work directly with the most famous pop stars in Peru to ensure that the songs we use really resonate with Peruvians.

We did a complex job of sound design so that each song is intervened with the exact beat of the real arrhythmia of each patient.

We work with renowned cardiologists in the country to ensure the quality of the design of the experience for people.

The songs with arrhythmia were published on all radio Corazon platforms without telling people what was happening. People reacted immediately asking what was going on with their favorite songs. A day later we revealed that the songs had arrhythmia. People loved it.

Outcome

The response was amazing.

More than 2 million people listen to the Songs with Arrhythmia.

More than 20,000 people asked for more information.

More than 1,000 people went for a cardiac check up.
