Execution
We created the world’s biggest arcade claw game on the side of the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. The claw games you find in arcades tantalise with big prizes, but always seem to disappoint in the end. This claw game contradicted that by making it even easier to win. This was the first time you could interact with a 3D projection and participants won gift cards, snowboards, vacations or even a Chevy Sonic. As contestants stepped up to play, they controlled the claw projected onto the side of the building with a giant Sonic gear shifter. To tantalise the crowd before the game started, 150 second video, projected onto the hotel and made the building come alive by showing the Sonic reconstructed from skeleton, to shell to street-ready machine
Outcome
Our execution was a complete success. The event went viral, with YouTube videos receiving over 100,000 combined hits. The event is officially entered as “The Largest Architectural Projection-Mapped Game” by the Guinness World Records, and in the car was given away to a winning player the second evening of the two day event.
