Description
We drew attention to this with a radar trap: the kind that's used for speed control on the roads. Anyone walking too fast got caught. The speed tickets distributed turned out to be shopping vouchers for Sihlcity, which is just a mile away. Hundreds of pedestrians in the Christmas shopping rush were caught walking too fast.
Execution
A speed trap was installed amidst Zurich's busy shopping street, where stressed Christmas shoppers were caught on camera that were going too fast. And anyone walking too fast, was given a ticket, which turned out to be a voucher for nearby shopping mall Sihlcity.
Outcome
More than 30% of the vouchers distributed were redeemed at Sihlcity during Christmas season.
