Since its launch in February, Stride Mega Mystery Gum has generated intense online speculation about the secret flavor. To add fuel to this fire, team Stride decided to prank our Facebook fans.
On April 1st, at 10:00AM we “revealed” to our 600,000+ fan group in a music video jingle that Mega Mystery tastes like…Poppin’ a Wheelie. At 11:00AM, we corrected ourselves and announced that Mega actually tastes like The Smell of Puppies. Hour after hour, fans were given a new ridiculous flavor update: Tastes like That Time You Won That Thing, Tastes like Chopping Wood, Tastes like The Internet, Tastes like Delaware, Tastes like A Short Attention Span. In the end, we kept the mystery going and engaged thousands of our fans like never before. Mega Mystery has been the most successful launch in the brand’s history.
