Execution

The 2014 Kia Forte is packed with cutting-edge gadgets and state-of-the-art gizmos. So we needed to come up with something suitably innovative to highlight its advanced features. Enter the Kia Forte Techathlete Games, a tongue-in-cheek test of tech talent where players compete in a series of games to prove they’re worthy of the Forte. There are five games in total: Type-Wondo, Gymnas-Clicks, 100m Headles, Sla-La-La-Lom, and Gy-Row-Scope, which are played using a keyboard, mouse, webcam, mic or smart phone synced to a computer. Winners won tech prizes and everyone got to know Forte better in this celebration of tech-awesomeness.

Outcome

The TechAthlete Games showcased the 2014 Kia Forte’s innovative tech features, associated the Kia brand with technology, and created engaging conversation in Kia’s social channels. The results:

• 5x return on investment (based on Kia-approved media values)

• 150,000+ game sessions over 60 days

• 500,000 video views over 60 days of the TechAthlete Games trailer featuring the Forte

• 40%+ of users shared the game through Facebook

• FWA “Site of the Day” Award

• New Zealand’s Best Interactive Design – Bronze
