Description

AOL has seen a migration of their teen audience in recent years and needed to make a bold statement to seriously compete for their attention. Introducing AOL Red, a site designed exclusively for teens on AOL … very different from the traditional AOL service. AOL Red is comprised of fourteen separate departments, each conveying its own unique identity, while at the same time, fitting into the larger Red look and feel. AOL and ourselves also designed ten new desktop environments — original illustrations — created specifically for Red. These environments, built in Flash, are animated and let teens navigate content in a way they’ve never experienced on AOL before. Traffic to AOL’s teen offerings has increased over 1,000 percent. Page views went from ten million to over eighty million and minutes per unique visitor are up over 100 percent.
