Description
American car enthusiasts, especially those who love cars from the 1930s through the 1970s, love their chrome. That unapologetic era when shine was king and weekends were spent waxing and buffing every bumper, tail fin and famous Chevrolet hood ornament. Our idea fully embraced these cars, specifically the signature bits of chrome that made them so iconic.
Execution
We located the original factory paint chips and worked with a body shop to match the factory colors perfectly. Then we screen printed on polished sheet metal, letting the chrome shine through. Never before has a set of “posters” looked and felt more like the very thing they were meant to celebrate—proud, polished Chevrolets rolling off the factory floor in Detroit.
Outcome
The auto show drew Chevy fans young and old, beating attendance from the previous three years. But the relevance of this commemorative set is currently on display at the museum. And we’re taking orders for another press run as the demand grows. We expect the Chrome series will find its way into garages, basements and man caves all around St. Louis. And this year, we hope to add new “models” to our poster production line.
