Description

Olympikus was the official provider of sport gear for Flamengo, one of the biggest sport clubs in the world.

After 3 years of an amazing partnership, Adidas paid 200 million dollars to break the contract and take over the sponsorship.

The media took the subject and started to talk about how bad it was for Olympikus to lose Flamengo and also their big fan base, the biggest In the world.

To change the subject on the media and to prove that our love for Flamengo is timeless we created an eternal jersey with a viral video on web.

Created with the most durable elements, this jersey was quickly taken as a proof of love from the fans and the media. The response was immediate and on the day Adidas started the new contract no one was talking about that. The jersey is now in the museum of Flamengo with our logo for eternity.

Execution

First we created a shirt with special materials that could last forever.

Second, we shot a video putting this shirt through the toughest tests like fire, ice and brutal strength.

Third, we launched the video on the last day of the contract as a memorial to all Flamengo’s fans.

And with Flamengo’s fanbase and the good relationship between Olympikus and the fans, the message went on social media, blogs and sites.

Outcome

Hundreds of fans started to share our video to brag about it in social media. It had more than 800,000 views organicly in just 1 week in youtube. Despite loosing the sponsorship we kept our relationship with the Flamengo fan base.
