Description
We invited the fans to a walk through football history. Literally. So we took the most important games of over 5 decades of derby history and turned them into a into artfully illustrations celebrating the biggest heros of the Hamburger Sportverein. Created only to be part of this special day. The illustrations were printed on the way to the arena- so no fan could get around them. That´s how we got the fans into the right mood for the game and maybe helped the club to win this important game.
Execution
We took the most important games of over 5 decades of derby history and turned them into artfully illustrations celebrating the biggest heros of the Hamburger Sportverein. Each and every illustration was created to celebrate the individual character of the HSV legend and the decade he was playing for the club. So each of them had a different and unique style. This illustrations we around 10m by 3m and printed on the way to the arena- so no fan could get around them. Together they covered around 300m of the way to the stadion.
Outcome
More than 30.000 fans experienced the derby walk. And even fans supporting the opponent team Werder Bremen appreciated the effort and dedication that went into the illustrations. TV covered the story. SKY sports even did their pre-match covering live from the König Pilsener Derbywalk. So the brand reached national football audience with this one day execution.
