Description
In China, the number of pregnant women under threat of passive smoking and harm to themselves and their babies has reached 180 million, 90% of which suffer at home.
Execution
We designed a special ‘Pregnant Women’ sculpture. In front of the table, there is a signage saying ‘Open Me’, which is a direct message to guide those who came to the hospital for a pregnancy check, either the patient or those accompanying them to check it out. When they open the sculpture, a baby is seen lying inside. Carrying on opening the baby, one would be surprised to see a smoking man sitting right inside. The creative concept thus is to deliver the message – You are smoking inside their bodies. Passive smoking kills - please don't smoke.
Outcome
In the six months of this campaign, the rate of public knowing this damage has risen to 97%. Over 8,650,000 people from the families that have pregnant women have changed their behavior and avoided to smoke in front of pregnant women. After this campaign in hospital, the sculpture is collected by Shanghai Museum as a piece of artwork.
