Description
The film took the well known technique of sing a long kareoke and put a unique football twist on it. Using 92 headers we created a huge sing along film to help the supporters familarize themselves with our song. The film started with one man as he does some skill to get the ball in the air, we then see it bounce from person to person as each lyric is sung out to match their shirt. The journey continues, as the song builds so does the action, it gets livelier and livelier the further we go down the chain. We begin to see crowd as momentum builds that this might actually happen. Outside the celebrations properly begin and we tail off to leave our group in jubilation.
Execution
England weren’t expected to win, we played on this by amplifying our ‘Do Us Proud’ message, not a winning one. We wanted passion and pride, not false hope. We chose a song famous in 1966, the year we won the World Cup. A song with lyrics that spoke to football fans and the players alike and would unite the nation. The ad had to feel like it was made by fans, for fans. We taught the public our song with football karaoke spanning over 92 heads, all with one message, Do Us Proud.
