Finding a modern way to talk about beauty was the goal of this film.
To achieve that it was clear that we wanted to tell the story of a woman growing up, spanning the timeframe starting at 5 years old and covering different life chapters. We tried to give her depth, realness, and relatability. It was interesting that it wasn’t a typical advertising story of the picture perfect life. We wanted to tell the ups and downs of any life, struggles, doubts and moments of joy.
The casting process was fun and intense as it was done in three cities until we finally clicked on these 6 women.
Another big challenge of going in was that it is a film that comes from such an intimate woman‘s perspective. Understanding the nuances was very important to ultimately make sure this story is told with the care and sensibility it deserves.
