In a global first, working with Paramount Pictures and AvatarLabs, we built live feeds into custom banner units that updated with bespoke animations as the 64 matches unfolded. As the players took to the field, our live action Transformers roared across screens with each captivating moment -- announcing goals, mimicking fouls, and declaring yellowcards. In between games, Transformers delivered localized game and player stats through rotating rich-media ads, bringing the game to fans of all 31 teams. We augmented our efforts with an editorial series and topped it off with Yahoo’s first-ever 360 live-stream of the Hong Kong global premiere.
Outcome
The results were beyond expectations as we delivered more than 97 million completed trailer views, at an unprecedented cost of just 2 cents per completed view! Additionally, the partnership delivered more than 2.5 billion editorial impressions and an additional 6.9 million completed editorial video views.
‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ went on to become the number 1 film of the year with a global box office exceeding $1 billion, smashing the studio’s lofty ambition.
