The concept of bringing almost 300 acres of land under cultivation, highlighting the issue of environmental degradation bore fruit in the planting of 300,587 saplings in the Khammam district. ITC factory workers, farmers and volunteers gathered together to plant these saplings in a record-breaking time of twenty minutes. In a show of immense teamwork, digging and planting was done simultaneously to achieve this feat, breaking the existing record of 134,000 saplings planted by 23,000 people in one hour.

A near 100% involvement of the farmers ensured that the existing record was not only broken but also far surpassed. 15,907 people, bringing together farmers, factory workers and volunteers planted 300,587 saplings in twenty minutes. The President of India awarded ITC with the first prize in the National Energy Conservation Awards for this effort. The activity has been entered into the Guinness Book of World Records.
