To communicate the drinking water problem clearly, we filled public water dispensers with the kind of water that 1.1 billion people have to drink every day. A provocative sign on each dispenser read: 'Drinking Water for 1.1 Billion People. Please make a donation to Unicef before you drink'. The bank account number was printed on the paper cups.
Outcome
Some of the media who reported: 'BILD', 'FAZ' (national daily newspapers) and 'Frankfurter Neue Presse'(regional daily) plus TV: 'Hessischer Rundfunk' and 'Rhein-Main-TV'. Due to the outstanding success of this campaign, activities are still ongoing. At the time of writing, it‘s impossible to say how high the total donations will be.
