Description
To launch Virgin Money in South Africa, we invented a fictitious African country - Blingola, where everyone has a Virgin Money Credit Card and all the happiness in the world.
Execution
TV spearheaded the media with a 60" advert in the grand style of tourism advertising. Outdoor in the form of a building wrap showed the Blingolan royalty waving from Blingingham palace. Our press and poster work were the national crests of Blingola. A radio campaign was aired that we recorded in the fictitious language of Blingo, with relevant bproduct benefits being spoken in English. Brochures were done in the form of shopping bags, and the cards came in welcome packs that were either champagne boxes, jewellery cases or cigar boxes. The hedonistic, hip-hop lifestyle inspired culture of the state of Blingola was even translated into the card design.
