Execution

Titled as Nupur Jagruti (Awakening), this movement forming a human chain of hands began from the historical monument of “Gateway of India” to connote the beginning of a new era – a dowry free India.

To lend topicality to this human chain, we launched it on International Women’s Day We also launched a website for Nupur Jagruti, where brides could seek legal advice on dowry related issues and people could also log onto the site and take a pledge against dowry

Outcome

More than 3000 people joined hands at the Gateway Of India to form a 2 mile long human chain. The website registered 20,000 visits and 312 pledges on the very first day of its inception. Media tie ins spread the message to 13 million people.
