Description

Something rather curious and rare was going to take place on May 1st 2016 in Spain: it was going to be not only the Workers' day, as it always is, but also the Mother's day. Therefore, at TBWA Spain we decided to pay tribute to all working mothers by producing a very simple film with a funny tone that shows how worthy of merit these women as well as the breadth of the effort that being a working mum involves.

Execution

We have sought to depict the everyday life of a working mother from a child's perspective, with the magic, fascination and imagination only children feel or have. When we get into the drawing, it becomes a metaphor for how children imagine their mothers' day, from the moment their mums wake them up to when they put them to sleep. Furthermore, the whole clip is based on real, actual insights to try to touch mothers in an emotional, affectionate fashion.

Outcome

This work, even though it has been produced at a really low cost, has obtained great results on Social Networks in a completely organic , natural way, with absolutely no investment on media to speak of. Through TBWA's Facebook channel alone we reached more than 120,000 people in just a couple of hours, something truly amazing. We have seen a 670% increase in the number of fans of our page, a 2771% spike in people reached with a post and the interactions with the post have grown by 220%. The initial idea of this project was to make a modest tribute to working mothers of our agency and it has since gone viral, something that far exceeded our wildest expectations.
