Caravan owners?! spat X-Trail. I wouldn't be seen dead with one. They are nothing like my flashy conquests of the past.

Likewise caravan owners thought the X-Trail was a bit cold, choosing to ignore 3rd party car advertising and only listening to expert recommendation.

We knew they were perfect for each other. We just needed to get them to spend some time together.

X-Trail finally agreed to go on a few dates with the Caravan Club, the No1 UK caravanning society with 1m members, to get to know the experts better.

Within months X-Tail became a key part of the Caravan Club community; the solus towing car at its national events, producing exclusive towing guides, giving X-Trails away via competitions, features in all print and digital Caravan Club comms and up to 16% discount for members.

Outcome

Not only did we successfully infiltrate the seemingly impenetrable community, but from complete obscurity, X-Trail is now regarded as a superior towing machine, with the seal of approval from this hard to impress community.

They loved it:

- £11.55m sales revenue from a budget of £50,000.

- A staggering sales ROI of 231:1.

- X-Trail sales: 516 versus a target of 80! A break taking result achieved in less than 2 months.

- Test drives: 900 versus 300 – a 200% over delivery

- 100% attributable to the Caravan Club partnership.

Turns out the 'big car' does have a place to call its own in the UK.
