CampaignDescription
As their fan-base, fiercely loyal and genuinely global, will readily point out, a Rammstein concert is the perfect place to be consummately entertained. The director used every trick in the book to translate the scale and energy of the concert to film, to make as much as an impression as possible on the audience.
If you make a film about a tour like this, there’s no such thing as thinking too big.
Execution
The director shot two nights at the Bercy Arena in Paris. The show was shot with 30 cameras, filming 60 angles, plus footage of a dress rehearsal for close-ups. That gives you a massive amount of footage. This is a 2 hour 20 minute show, and the footage was edited with the same precision used in a 3-4 minute music video. Even with a big crew of editors, it took over a year to nail down the edit. It really brings the show alive and shows what Rammstein is all about. Six sound mixes were completed RAMMSTEIN: PARIS – four surround mixes (theatrical, Atmos, home DVD 7.1 and 5.)
Outcome
The film screened over a couple of nights in March 2017. After being successfully shown in 46 countries RAMMSTEIN: PARIS was made available as a director’s cut on DVD, Blu-ray, CD and Vinyl, as well as digitally.
Relevancy
RAMMSTEIN: PARIS is seminal live concert film designed for cinema and blue ray.
Strategy
Shoot over two nights with 30 cameras.
The director's creative rendition of the all-new stage production the band delivered at Paris Bercy in March 2012 takes the art form to a whole new level. This fast-paced state-of-the-art concert film is a visual feast, a celebration of Rammstein live that is both different to and in some ways better than being there – and a definite contender for the best concert film of all time.
Synopsis
The director was tasked with catching the excitement of one of the largest live music productions of the past decade.
The Rammstein “Made in Germany 1995–2011” tour was a monumental undertaking. With 78 concerts in Europe and 21 in North America, baggage included a 24-meter-wide, 15 metre high steel stage, 100 loudspeakers, a 380,000-watt sound system, 25 trucks, and 125 crew members.
