CampaignDescription

We met with Josh (FJM) and had a brief talk about how it could look, we suggested basing the narrative around the last human survivor in a post apocalyptic world who goes about her life with a pragmatic optimism, making the most of the dire situation she is in.

Execution

The video is traditional stop motion animation was conceived and executed in three weeks in Bristol UK by the Jacknife team.

Outcome

339,702 YouTube views.

Featured on all major music press inc. Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NME et al.

Relevancy

Music video to promote Father John Misty, and his album Pure Comedy.

Strategy

The fact that her life, while exceptional is very linear and quite pointless is the payoff. Josh was keen that there was no 'message' as such and the final shot would be deliberately oblique. Although the subject matter is dark the production was intended to have a light, even flippant air. Which it does admirably.

Synopsis

The brief from the artist was simple - follow the narrative of the lyric but feel free to interpret the meaning.
