OVERVIEW

Write a short summary of what happens in the film.

We meet several extremely unique characters, each with unexpected interests. A hardcore punk rocker, who happens to love kittens and fragrant flowers. A sweet, old grandmother who happens to drive a loud, exhaust-belching hot rod. A native Samoan, who escaped the warmth of the tropics to become an ice sculptor. A fashionable soccer mom, who loves to get dirty and chop wood while her broad-shouldered husband (who looks like a lumberjack) prefers quiet time with the kids. And an extremely petite woman, who not only owns her own dog-walking business, but just happens to be strong enough to walk three enormous, powerful dogs, using one hand.

Despite their initial appearance, each character exudes a passion for their favorite things in life, no matter how unexpected. And they’re clearly confident in being themselves, despite what anyone might think — and despite their severe asthma.

Tell the jury the animation / visual effects used and summarise any relevant challenges or techniques.

Because our audience is adults with very real worries about a very real disease, we employed 3D animation that felt just as real. And we built a town that felt like a real place, inhabited by a real community.

This required all the lifelike realism of a high-end feature film, rendered using selective focus to mimic live action. Each of our 15 dynamic characters was designed with meticulous detail, from the pores in their skin to the stitches in their clothing. Each body posture and facial movement brought out their unique personalities. Each hair reacted to wind and momentum. And the scenery was no less detailed. The dust particles floating in the air, the cracked wood in a tabletop, automobiles that actually followed the laws of physics. You could almost smell the smoke from the crackling campfire.

For 60 seconds, our audience was worry-free and right at home.

“Branded” consumer ads (which include a product name, not just a company name) are regulated extremely strictly. Safety information must be emphasized in voiceover and supers. Pacing, the number of cuts, music volume, sound effects levels, timing of supers, size of type, etc., are all tightly monitored by regulatory reviewers.

Describe the target audience and why your work is relevant to them.

Consumers with severe asthma who face every day not knowing what might trigger an attack — Pet dander? Strong smells? Exhaust fumes? Cold temperatures? Other medications are indicated to treat certain types of severe asthma. But TEZSPIRE works across all severe asthma types. So you can be more yourself.
