Write a short summary of what happens in the film
This film is a celebration of freedom. The freedom to be who you are and take up space wherever you go. Throughout the film, we follow the journeys of LGBTQIA+ couples and individuals as they travel with confidence and pride. Shot on both film and digital, we witness them authentically loving each other and themselves — holding hands, swimming in the ocean, and dancing without a care in the world. The film culminates in a spirited montage featuring the entire cast at the height of their self-expression and liberation, inviting the audience to experience for themselves what it means to “Travel As You Are.”
Cultural / Context information for the jury
Although LGBTQIA+ travelers’ motivation is similar to the general population (they want to relax, discover, enjoy a new culture, etc.), they face a psychological challenge that’s counterintuitive to the experience of travel. Through research, we discovered that despite the freedom that comes from travel and taking pride in one’s queerness, LGBTQIA+ travelers still feel inhibited by a world divided by difference. Safety and acceptance are challenges the community experiences when they set foot in a foreign city both locally and internationally. So we developed a campaign that embraces defiance, courage and pride that the community embodies, and gives them the confidence to do so with curated information and partnerships to keep travel safe and liberating.
