BriefExplanation
The VO of this film has been created using 19 song titles from bands that have played the Roskilde Festival over the years. The song titles are used to tell the story about the festival and all the things you can experience while attending.
The story begins in the camping area describing the place, the people and the experiences. We then move on to the music, to the weather, and finally an invitation for all to join no matter who they are.
The film is created using real festival footage to underline the authenticity of the VO and highlight the fact that the music is the soundtrack to the larger experience of going to a festival.
EntrySummary
Roskilde Festival is a non-profit music festival dedicated to being a festival that offers more than just a musical experience – while of course still having music as the central element. It offers a variety of activities such as maker labs, art camps, workshops etc. And in addition makes a big deal out of offering innovative ways of camping such as artistic camp sites (Dream City).
The festival has a strong belief in supporting causes that tear down injustice and prejudice such as racism, gender discrimination, inequality etc.
ScriptInEnglish
In the film we switch between a selection of black and white clips in slow motion. They are all actual footage from the festival and show special moments from the festival. Each clip is connected to the VO to highlight the correlation between the song title and the festival experience.
VOICE OVER:
It’s a “m.a.a.d city”.
A “Temporary Ground” that’s “Here To Stay”.
Here you’ll live among “Common People” and dance and sing with your “Heroes”.
You can wander aimlessly around “Where The Streets Have No Name”.
And maybe encounter a “Bizarre Love Triangle” or even a “Paranoid Android” “Dancing Barefoot” in the grass.
At first “It’s Oh So Quiet” and filled with “Comforting Sounds”.
Then “Block Rocking Beats” will blow your mind like a “Champagne Supernova” .
There may be “Sour Times” and bad weather. But we just call it “Purple Rain”.
Just “Come As You Are” and be “Comfortably Numb”.
“Wherever You May Roam”, “Welcome To The Jungle”!
