Summary of the work

To make our inaugural FIFA World Cup sponsorship a national iconic moment within three days of the Final, we innovated within 48 hours to alleviate the entire country's anxiety through technology.

Stage 1: Development in App

As Argentina clinched the World Championship, we identified through social listening the nation's collective eagerness to know about the arrival of the trophy. While other sponsors scrambled to capitalize on the team's success, we focused on the anxiety gripping every Argentinian and Instead of an expensive media strategy, we decided to use our own platform.

Utilizing a no-code system bolstered by AI, we seamlessly integrated the Google Maps API and Flight Aware API into the PedidosYa platform. This dynamic combination enabled us to track the World Cup flight in real-time and display its progress directly to our users. We also took care of other details, like naming the driver "Lio" (an homage to Messi) and letting people text him as they waited. We even included a disclaimer acknowledging potential delays due to celebratory events.

Stage 2: The push notification that no one (and everyone) asked for

The key to spreading our innovative solution lay in its seamless integration into users' daily routines. Thus, we opted for a push notification—an often underestimated medium. Moments after the plane departed from Qatar, every PedidosYa user received a "fake" delivery notification: "Your order is on the way."

Millions of users panicked, thinking their account had been hacked, or they had been scammed. However when they opened it, all their anguish turned into joy.

The notification seamlessly redirected users to the app's map feature, which typically tracks orders. This time, however, it provided real-time tracking data for the flight transporting the champions and the trophy back home so they could follow it from their phones.

By ingeniously merging cutting-edge technology with user-centric design, we transformed PedidosYa into an integral part of the nation's celebration.
