OVERVIEW

Description

The “Bystander” PSA film is an emotional and simple rallying cry urging everyone to get involved in the fight to end sexual assault on college campuses.

“Bystander” is the second PSA from the “It’s On Us” campaign, launched by President Obama and Vice President Biden. The film shows a college-aged girl under the influence of alcohol trying to leave a party but is being urged and pulled by a male to stay, obviously against her will. A fellow male bystander takes notice of the interaction and immediately takes action. The film is made to encourage everyone to see it as his or her responsibility to do something, big or small, to prevent it sexual assault. Further, the PSA included a call-to-action to incentivize involvement, asking viewers to visit the ItsOnUs.org website and take the online pledge devoted to the social effort.
